Off-the-shelf units are the wrong width. Floating shelves look good in photographs but don't do much for real storage. And standard alcove solutions rarely account for the things that make your alcoves unique — uneven walls, unusual depths, chimney breasts that aren't quite symmetrical.
At JAX Bespoke, we build proper cabinetry for your alcoves. Every piece is designed to your exact measurements, with real doors, real drawers and real storage — built the same way we build our wardrobes and kitchens. The result looks like it was always meant to be there, because it was designed to be.

Fitted Bookcases & Libraries
A proper fitted bookcase transforms an alcove into a feature. Floor-to-ceiling shelving with a cabinetry base, built to your exact dimensions and finished to the same standard as everything else we make. Books, objects, records — designed around what you actually want to store and display.
Home Bars & Entertainment
Alcoves make the perfect home bar — contained, defined, and with enough depth for bottles, glasses and a backlit display. We design the cabinetry, the glass shelving, the lighting and the finishing details so the whole thing looks intentional. Because it is.

Alcove units and fitted wardrobes often overlap — particularly in bedrooms where a chimney breast alcove becomes the natural home for a run of wardrobes. If that's what you have in mind, we can take the project further than a standard alcove unit.

What Does a Fitted Alcove Unit Cost?

Single Unit
One Alcove
A single alcove unit — cabinetry below, shelving or full-height cabinetry above. Built to your exact dimensions with your choice of door style and finish.
Pair
Chimney Breast Pair
Two matching units either side of a chimney breast — the most common alcove project we do. Designed to sit symmetrically and finished to match each other perfectly.
Feature
Library, Bar or Feature Unit
Floor-to-ceiling bookcases, home bars with glass shelving and integrated lighting, or multi-alcove runs across a full wall. A piece that's designed to be the focal point of the room.

Jack comes to you. He'll measure your alcoves properly — including wall angles, floor levels and any irregularities that affect how the unit needs to be built. No obligation, no sales pitch.
Design & Approval
We produce a detailed design showing exactly what will be built. Door style, finish, interior layout, dimensions — all confirmed before anything is made. You can also visit our design studio to see finishes and hardware in person.
Built in Our Workshop
Your alcove unit is made in our Wakefield workshop to your exact specification. Hand-finished, checked, and not leaving until it's right.
Installed Properly
We fit everything ourselves — cleanly and carefully. Most alcove unit installations take one day. We leave your room exactly as we found it, except for the unit.

Choosing a finish from a screen only goes so far. Visit our design studio in Wakefield — by appointment — and hold the actual door styles, paint finishes and hardware we work with before committing to anything.
