Home Bar · Yorkshire
Designed around your room, built in our Wakefield workshop, and installed by our own team. Proper storage for bottles and glassware, finishes that suit your home, and every inch of an awkward space put to use.
What Bespoke Actually Means
Most "home bar" furniture is really just a cabinet with a fancy name — a standard size, dropped into whatever space is closest to fitting it. That's fine if your alcove happens to be exactly that size. Most aren't.
At JAX Bespoke, every bar is built to the exact dimensions of your space — the width of the alcove, the depth of the chimney breast, the height to the ceiling. No gaps at the sides, no worktop overhang, nothing that looks like it was squeezed in.
Jack comes to your home, measures properly, and designs the bar around the space you actually have — and how you actually want to use it.
No gaps. No fillers. Built for the space you actually have.
What We Build
The classic spot for a home bar — built to the exact width and height of the alcove beside the fireplace, working around the chimney breast rather than stopping short of it. Lit shelving for spirits and glassware, with cupboards and log storage below to keep everything else out of sight.

A proper centrepiece rather than something tucked into a corner — a full run of cabinetry with an integrated sink, wine fridges built in rather than sat on top, and a worktop that's built to be used. Designed as the focal point of a larger entertaining space.
Built as a peninsula or run of cabinetry that opens straight onto the rest of the room rather than sitting behind a closed door — ideal for open-plan living spaces and snugs, where the bar is simply part of how the whole room gets used. Works just as well built alongside one of our fitted media walls.
Bifold doors open, drink in hand, garden on the doorstep. Built into a garden room or extension, a fitted bar brings the same proper storage and finish outdoors as it does inside — something we design alongside our sister brand EcoJAX.
Inside Every Bar
A bar that looks the part but doesn't have anywhere to actually put your bottles is just an expensive shelf. We design the interior around what you actually keep — how many bottles, how much glassware, whether a wine fridge needs to fit in.
Finish & Quality
Every bar we build is hand-finished in our Wakefield workshop — the same joinery, the same attention, the same finishes we use across our kitchens and fitted furniture. Reeded glass, mirrored backs, brass or matt black hardware, chosen to match your room rather than a catalogue.
We don't cut corners on the things you won't notice until they go wrong. That's why a JAX home bar still looks exactly right years after it's installed.
How It Works
Jack comes to your home, takes precise measurements and has a real conversation about how you'll use the bar. No obligation, no sales pitch — just a chance to work out what's possible.
We produce detailed, drawn-to-scale design drawings so you can see your bar before anything is made. You're also welcome to visit our design studio — by appointment — to see and feel the actual finishes and hardware in person.
Every piece is made in our own workshop in Wakefield, to your exact specification. Hand-finished, inspected, and not leaving until it's right.
We fit everything ourselves, cleanly and carefully. Most home bar installations take one to two days.
Your Design, To Scale
Before anything is cut or fitted, we produce a detailed, drawn-to-scale design of your bar. You'll see exactly how it'll look in your room — proportions, glass placement, lighting positions — so there are no surprises on installation day.
If something isn't right, we change it at this stage, not after it's been built. It's your chance to refine every detail before we start making anything.
Drawn to scale. Designed for your room. Approved before anything is built.
Common Questions
Yes — this is one of the most common requests we get. Because everything is made to measure in our own workshop, we can design around sloped ceilings, alcoves, chimney breasts and other spaces that off-the-shelf furniture won't fit.
It depends on the size and complexity of the design, but most projects run from initial consultation through to installation over several weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline once your design is finalised.
We design the space to fit a wine fridge or drinks fridge of your choice, so you can pick the model that suits your needs and we'll build the cabinetry around it.
Yes — a number of our customers combine the two, so the bar and the media wall are designed as one run of cabinetry with matching finishes and hardware, rather than two separate pieces of furniture.
We design, manufacture and install across Yorkshire, including Wakefield, Leeds, York and the surrounding areas.
Not at all — send us some photos of the space and anything you like the look of, and we'll help shape the design from there.
Our Design Studio
Picking glass, lighting and hardware off a screen is fine up to a point. There's no substitute for seeing how a mirrored panel actually catches the light, or how a reeded glass door looks in person. That's why we have a studio — and why it's worth a visit before you commit to anything.
By appointment only. Come and see what we can do.
