Customer Story: Kirkburton Media Wall

A few years ago, Mel and Beth embarked on a journey to make their new family home truly their own. Eager to infuse their personal style and taste into every corner, they decided to revamp their front room. With a vision of creating a space that resonated with their aesthetics, they turned to JAX Bespoke for assistance in transforming their living area.

Before the media wall transformation- here is how their wall looked when the couple bought their house: 

Recognizing the significance of the media wall as the focal point of the room, Mel and Beth were prepared for a comprehensive makeover. Their collaboration with JAX Bespoke, a company renowned for its expertise in designing, manufacturing, and installing media walls and bespoke furniture in Yorkshire, marked the beginning of an exciting project.

The couple articulated their desire to bid farewell to the outdated grey tiled media wall and fireplace that came with the house. In its place, they envisioned an imitation chimney breast flanked by acoustic wall panelling, setting the stage for a more contemporary and functional layout.

 Media wall design

The new media wall design introduced a central timber-framed section meticulously crafted to accommodate a larger TV and electric fireplace, creating a seamless integration of technology and aesthetics. Once Mel and Beth were satisfied with the final design, the process of dismantling the old media wall commenced, paving the way for a fresh and modern transformation of their front room.

 Media wall manufacture

The construction of this media wall was divided into several stages to ensure a seamless process. Following the dismantling and removal of the old media wall, the electrical work commenced. A skilled and qualified electrician installed double sockets behind the TV bracket location and wired the necessary electrics for the desired lighting on each side of the imitation chimney breast for Beth and Mel.

After the electrical work was finished, the timber frame for the media wall was erected and clad in plasterboard. The plasterboard cladding prepared the wall for plastering. Once the wall was freshly plastered and dried, the acoustic panelling was installed, leading to the installation of the TV and fireplace into the finished media wall.
